Flowrox Pinch Valve Improves Reliability of Lime Control

Vattenfall Energy decided to use Flowrox pinch valve which improved lime control reliability. Flowrox has over 4 000 successful installations in the energy industry. Vattenfall Energy, located in Denmark, wanted to improve the performance of the existing valve process conditions in their FGD (flue gas desulphurization) lime slurry control feeding system. The process originally had a special control valve with a ceramic trim system installed and service interval for this valve was typically around 6 to 9 months. After a meeting with Scanrox, an official Flowrox representative in Denmark, the customer decided to replace the old valve with new Flowrox PVE 50 mm pinch valve to improve lime control reliability.

Service interval extended from 6-9 months to 2 years

After the installation of the first Flowrox valve, the reliability was significantly higher. One year after, another Flowrox valve (PVE 65 mm) was installed. After Flowrox reliable valves replaced the old ceramic valve, the service interval was significantly extended. Comparing to 6-9 months, with pinch valves the service interval has extended to more than 24 months without any disturbances in the lime slurry control.
